Another fabulous DLC addition to Redout! These tracks are set in an abstract, psychadelic, almost dream-like simulation which provides a visual flavor quite unique from the rest of the game. The two new musical tracks provide a nice ambience as well, maintaining the general techno \/ drum-and-bass flavor of the soundtrack while adding in some synthesized beeps and buzzes to bring the computer-themed environment to life.As far as the tracks themselves- for those players who prefer the simpler, more curvy layouts of locations like Cairo and Alaska, this DLC is right up your alley. Even if you do prefer those really complex behemoths of Neptune and Europa like I do, these tracks provide a nice contrast and are a much-welcomed addition to an already stellar title.. Simple fast tracks. To start, I'm first going to say that this DLC is NOT as good as the last one. The tracks in that were absolutely amazing, as was the music. The tracks in this one are OK, but not amazing, and compared to the last ones are a bit too easy. I did have fun with them though, and for the lower price I guess they are OK.I hope they come out with more DLC tracks in the future, and I would suggest anyone who is a big fan of the game pick it up, although if you are only getting one DLC pack you should get the other one.. The V.E.R.T.E.X. Pack has similar track layouts as Cairo. The tracks are easy. The visuals consist of vertices and the soundtrack is adequate.The price matches the minimalistic visual design. I recommend watching a gameplay video of a boss mode race, trough this location, to decide, on the purchase of this DLC. I recommend this DLC for people who want to race on simple tracks. I don't recommend this for people who want detailed visuals.. Deciding that patching out gravity and air resistance wasn't enough, the devs have now implemented a safe virtual reality which allows us to go faster than ever before without the risk of getting lost in space and re-enacting the last few minutes of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey. Certified fast, permanently.. The Vertex tracks are rather more fun and less teeth-clenching than most, which is certainly not a bad thing! These tracks have more of a traditional, F-Zero vibe. Fleshing out the early Career with some easier events that are Not Alaska is very welcome. Funky music and highly recommended!. I was exited to try out these tracks on viewing the screenshots, but having seen them in-game, I've gotta say I'm disappointed. The coloured blocks appear to have been placed without much thought to form and visual function... too messy. A great game, but if you're thinking of purchasing just one or two DLCs, I'd say go for the other packs first.
